I found this great swf file which made by twolf at XDA-Developers and I put it in a widget so we can have it in full screen…

Here are some features :

The idea of this software is not only a quick flashlight (that you can have on a hardware key or icon, so that you have an easy access), but also many other uses.

So I made a semi-hidden touchscreen menu that gives access to all these light applications:

- LAMP, a simple white screen.
- Strobe, to call for attention (or hypnotize someone ?_o).
- Fader, with fade-in/fade-out light, like a lighthouse.
- SOS, that spells s.o.s in morse code.
- Disco, random bright colorful lights, like a disco.
- PEN, in which you can draw temporary light forms.
- Starlight animation(heavy on CPU).
- LOVELYGHT, just a visual test, also good for the loved ones.
- LIGHTER , for fun on a concert, as you can see on the picture.
- Match, pretty much like lighter.
- Candle, pretty much like match, with a twist.
- Eye of mordor, for geeks like me.
- LightSaber with sounds. Press top, middle or bottom of the screen for diferent effects, or use your keypad.
- Android boot animation
- Knight rider fade.
- Evil eyes on the dark.
- Firefly, click for interaction.
- Bicycle light, click to brake.
- Customize, only for some models that dont light up on the opening, still with bugs.
- Exit, obviously to leave the application, you can also use the ENTER (in the middle of the keypad) at any moment.

This application is another way of showing what a Nokia 5800 can do with its touch interface. I reviewed another application like this called Mobile paint. See previous post. Paint pad is much similar to Mobile paint with added features and tools.

I want to start with its features. This app will let you load a picture saved in your phone so you can add and paint over it. Pictures can be zoom, rotate, drag around the screen before you can start painting. When you’re ready to use the picture, you click ok and the paint tool comes up. You can also start with a blank sheet. Not just a white blank sheet, you can start with any color that you prefer as a blank sheet. Another option is to take a photo. The rest are the same features that you’ll find on your MS paint. Spray paint is really cool to have on this app. It also comes with its own eraser. As a note, it only erase the paint not the picture, it would have been nice if you can also erase the photo. Another tool that I want to mention is the Text tool. You can add text anywhere, which is as simple as it gets.

I also want to make a note that you can rotate this app. I feel like I need to mention that because not all application is supported for rotate; some of them that I saw were games. Another thing that I noticed is, it only loads picture from the main picture folder. If you have a personal folder created inside the gallery folder, you have to move them to the main gallery before you can import it to the Paint Pad.

A nice reminder app that can replace the one that came with the phone. Notes On The Phone is a nice looking application for notes and reminders for Nokia 5800. It is like having post it on your Nokia 5800 Xpress Music.
This application is very easy to use. You’ll start of with a blank background, which by the way, you can change it to anything that you want. Under option you can select Import background image and use any image from your library. Adding notes is pretty easy. Just select Add notes from option and type whatever you need to put in one reminder. Create as many as you want. It’ll create a post it look on the background. You can drag the notes around the screen. I just wish you could interact more on the notes like putting it as mark done. You can also trash the note and edit the note under option. Under settings it let’s you adjust the minutes for the notes to show up again as a reminder. I set it up for two hours as a personal preference.

All in all Note On The Phone is a good alternative for a reminder app. Its way of adding notes and reminding user makes it unique from other apps. I used it for day and I think this application has some potentials.

I have been looking for an application that can store information and protected by password. I’m sure that there are a few of them out there but this one is absolutely free. It’s called Hack Proof Password Manager. Based on its name, it’s hacked proof, although I can’t it prove myself, I’ll take their word for it.

When you first load the app, it’ll ask for a password, which will become your global password. Meaning, if you or someone else tries to log in and doesn’t know the password, the only other option is to erase all data or quit the app. The interface on this app is user-friendly. Under options you can add, delete and update information. You can change your password, and export and import your data file. You can also get the option menu when you double click and hold data under content list.

There are a lot to choose from when it comes to adding data type. A few of them are bank account, email information, combination lock and network login. It even has general purpose, which I think can be use to put some personal notes. There is a lot of information that you can select when adding information to a type of data. Aside from password, account number, pin code. There are a few more that can be use to input data. The app is set to close after certain amount of time of no use, although it’s not configurable. My guess is about two minutes.
